HOW IT STARTED

"Can I recycle this?"
"How to recycle that?"
"Where to recycle everything?"

These are the common mind-boggling problems most Malaysians face when it comes to recycling.

In a public survey conducted by Zero Waste Malaysia (“ZWM”) in 2021, over 96% of the respondents were confused about trash recyclability.

This is coupled with the low recycling rate in Malaysia – 31.5%(1) in 2021

[Singapore: 55%(2); Germany: 66%(3)].

Why not create a dictionary where everyone can learn recycling in 1 click?

This is how Trash Encyclopedia a.k.a
Trashpedia was born!

By building this resource, ZWM hopes that recycling becomes a habit for Malaysians.

Or best, go zero waste and avoid creating waste from the very first place.
